RE. Cam timing I have found that you do need at least check your cam timing after the installation of a new after market cam. I have found cams to be as far out as 30 degrees. Cams can be indexed wrong from the factory. Do not assume they are correct out of the box. This has happened to me four times in my engine building life. Always check. I always use an adjustable gear so I know the cam is timed to published specs. You do not need to use a adjustable gear, but it sure makes the job easy(sorta). R. Williams |
