My reply to Greg raised the possibility of the car having been converted to
negative earth, and the tacho still being wired for positive.

Several people have now picked up the negative earth theme in their own
replies.

But Greg advises me that the car is still positive earth. I have
unwittingly led a false trail across his original question. Anyone want to
get back to his question? (Wish I could help further. The only tacho I
know anything about is a Mexican one you eat. Speaking of fine Mexican
restaurants, does anyone know Chretin's in Yuma?)

Daryl
