Midget to Colorado?

Some time this year I plan to ship or drive a 73 Midget to my daughter who
lives in Longmont Colorado.  I have been told that they inspect for
anti-smog equipment. Does that apply to 25 year old cars? The air pump,
manifolds etc. for this car are long gone.

Also, can anyone recommend a good mechanic in that area of of the state?
