Jack,

I had a Weber setup on my 79 Spit before I changed to European SU HS4's.
I had the electric choke DGV 32/36 model. On the bottom of the mounting
plate, that the air filter sits on there was a small tube to hook up the hose
from the rocker cover. This way the oily fumes from the engine would get
reburned.
I chose to cap the tube coming off the bottom of the air filter plate with a
rubber cap. I then found an inexpensive aftermarket 2 or 3" filter and put
that directly on the valve cover vent tube.
I wasn't too keen on sucking oily gas through my new Weber carb. I needed to
clean the filter at the valve cover about every other month. This worked well
for the 2 years I had this setup.

Jack, with this reply I'm copying an e-mail list of Spitfire owners who
might
be able to help. Unfortunately, I've no experience with the Weber conversion
myself.

Listers: please make sure you include Jack in any replies, and thanks!

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er, Triumph
Herald engine with wings.

Hi, I am converting my Stromberg carburetor to a Weber carb and was wondering
where to tie in the breather line form the valve cover too.
If you can help me out I would be very grateful.
The vehicle is a 1979 spitfire 1500
Best regards Jack Tiboni
