Fill the cavity in the back with Bondo (not just for body work anymore.)
The steps are:

   1. Cut off all the posts on the back and sand smooth.
   2. Fill the back with Bondo and sand smooth.
   3. Hit the Bondo with paint if you are worried about moisture.
   4. Apply with double stick trim tape.


Works great on the "MIDGET" letters on an MG.
