Remember, the leaf spring takes fore and aft thrust. It works with the
existing radius arms to transmit force to the car for motion. So you
can't just replace the spring with a set of spherical jointed radius
rods. Your simplest approach would be to leave the single leaf that has
the eye in it.
Another possibility is to go with a fiberglass leaf.
