I suspect the combination of that hot cam and the 4-1 headers has both 
moved the HP peak up fairly high and reduced your low rpm torque quite a 
bit. I had a similar setup on my car, but with a 1296 motor. It screamed at 
5K+, but was gutless below 3K. A milder cam and stock header have made it 
much more drivable - though I miss that top-end rush sometimes! With the 
stock manifold it is out of breath at 5500 rpm. I think a 4-2-1 header can 
give better results than either - maybe a nice stainless one next year.....
