(sorry if you get this twice, I didn't see it when I first posted it)
Its time to replace the tires on my Spitfire, the 205/60 BFGs are getting
a bit worn This is the third set of these tires in many years and I
really like them but they seem to be getting a little pricey relatively
speaking.
Looking at the TireRack web site I see that Sumiturno has a tire in the
same size, with the same overall dimensions, a higher performance rating,
and for about $22 less a tire. They list their HTR 200s at $40 vs. $62 for
the BFG TA. That is quite a price difference and the Sumiturno is a higher
performance tire to boot. I might be persuaded to change brands, but I am
a little reluctant since I really do like the BFGs. I probably drive a
little more spirited than I should, and I am not concerned with wet
performance per say (since I have a truck that I drive in inclement
weather), but dry cornering and braking would be paramount with wear also
being a factor. After all I don't want to replace them in a year, the
current set lasting about four years with approximately 35K miles on them.
Anybody have any experience with this brand, especially this tire? I would
like to hear from you before I decide which brand to go with
