Also, the shaft will not drop out once all the bolts are removed. There is an
'internal lip' of metal where the shaft meets the tranny (i.e. an overlap).
So... once the bolts are removed, you may find (and most likely will) you have
to remove the rear engine mounts (which are often called transmission mounts),
or at least 'undo' them. Using a jack, with a piece of wood, support the
transmission under the oil pan. You MAY have to jack the tranny rather high up
to seperate it from the flange of the driveshaft (think of two pieces of steel,
with 500lbs pressure pushing them against each other). If like the 1500, its
too much to try to use a pry bar to seperate, and you wouldn't want to do so,
anyway.
