If it fits, and you can find a belt of the correct length, the exact diameter 
dies
not really matter.  Your personal driving style would have a bigger impact than
the exact pulley size on the average generator speed.  

The forward/backward spacing is more important.  You have to make sure
that all the pulleys line in the same plane.
