Thanks Richard! This is really an excellent guide. It is so much more
readable than the Haynes Guide.

After affirming that my gearbox is definitely a 3-rail and my spare a single
rail, I wrote to a number of places for quotes on a rebuilt unit and and
overhaul kit. Rimmer Bros came back with very good quotes. I am wondering
how many people have attempted their own overhaul. How hard is it. Also,
what is people's experience with Rimmer's products.

Thanks all who've responded so far!

Ken,

Definitely easier to pull the transmission out on it's own, from inside the
car. This is even more true if you don't have an engine hoist. Check out
