Yep, I just knew you'd be back soon with another gremlin legacy of our old
friend Lucas!

As already mentioned, low gearbox oil levels can cause O/D problems.  Having
checked that, it is almost certainly an electrical problem, the O/D itself
is very robust and rarely fails because of internal faults.

I'm afraid it's back to test light work and trying to find the fault -
particularly difficult if the problem is intermittent!  At one time the
switch in my gearknob was dodgy, so I just replaced that - do MkIII GT6s
have the switch in the gearknob or on a column stalk?  If it is in the
gearknob, a common problem is the wire that leads up the gearlever chafing
and wearing through.
