That's the way the cookie crumbles! They're estimating
6 weeks of severence pay...fire me please! It's just
more impetus for me to get out to Salt Lake City. (If
I don't get a job in Salt Lake in the next couple of
weeks, my girlfriend is going to kill me anyhow, so I
won't really have to worry about the unemployment for
long).

I like seeing the shiney teeth (the grill) also.
Without the mustache and beard (bumper and spoiler) it
has a closer resemblence to a MKI-MKIII. And the
chrome really sets it off (Thanks Barry!). I've gotten
a lot more thumbs-up from onlookers since I installed
it (of course it's only been a week but it seems like
I have).

I'd also like to get some sort of shallow bumper
overrider to fit those hinge pivot points. But I can't
seem to find anything that's the right dimensions and
makes a smooth enough transition with the rest of the
car. It has to stay almost level with the top of the
extension so the bonnet clears when it tilts up. And
MKIV overiders are too square for my taste. I was
looking at just making a clay mold and laying a
fiberglass overrider shell and then filling it with
expanding foam-rubber with nested wall anchors so that
they can be screwed/bolt mounted to the metal
extenders....but it will be something for the future.
I want to get the body work finished.

Also, a side note, I've ordered that stuff from Rimmer
Bros. earlier this week (New tonneau, so that you can
have my current tonneau with headrest bumps) but I
have no idea how long it will take to get it from the
UK (the shipping is free, so I'm not sure how it's
going to get here...probably by rickshaw). I still
need this one to keep the rain out in the mean time.
