I wanted to introduce myself to the list.

My name is Andrew Conti and I live in Cohasset, Mass.

I recently purchased (sight unseen) a 1969 MrkIII that spend all of its life in
Southern California and AZ. I had the car shipped directly to Tally Ho in
Melrose and Chuck is working out a few bugs so that it will pass inspection.

He gave me a report and tells me that the car is completely rust free. He was
amazed at how clean the underside is. The car has 78k miles and is fairly well
document. When new the seats were taken out of the car and aftermarket seats
were installed. The original seats floated thru 3 owners and the PO before me
reinstalled the new looking original seats. The carpets are new as is the top.
The dashboard is cracked and some to the dash switches are broken or missing.
Chuck tells me the car needs Trunnions? and tie rod ends as well as new
bushings to make the front end correct. He also mentioned the carbs are
running rich and suggested I get new ones $850. installed! Ouch

The car was originally blue and sometime over the years got painted a
non-factory bright yellow. UGH

My first question to the list. Talk about jumping into the fire. IS... I'm
wondering how much $$$ it would take to install a GT6 engine, and trans? Is it
cheaper and easier to make a spit6 or a gt6spit? Any info and suggestions
would be welcome. Rather then dumping money into the carbs and front end only
to have redo all that later.

THANKS!
