I read your message and thought "Great, Atlanta to Pasadena - they must
surely pass through the deep South on that route!" I was planning a trip
for my eight year old and I too experience such a life changing event. I
wanted to light a candle in his impressionable mind that would some day
awaken and burst into an all consuming "spit"fire in his heart.

Then I checked the website and saw that the race orchestrators went to
great pains to avoid the deep South, as if to avoid a plague. One would
think that the history channel would like some history. If I thought my
Spit would make it to any of the sites on the arc, I might try, but it's
too great a trek from north Mississippi.

I guess it is up to me alone to make sure that true Spitfire values are
passed on, since I am so far from the tribe! :')

Have a great time, Laura, and bring back lots of great stories to the
list so we can all sit around our computers (read that "tribal camp
fires") and share the lore!
