SAFETY NOTE: Make sure you wire the pump so that it

Thanks to Ford's trials with the Pinto, you can go to
the Bone yard and hit up any FoMoCo passanger car and
get an Intertia switch out of it. If the car gets
whacked the switch trips and cuts power to the elec
fuel pump (it is wired in series with the pump). This
switch is made by the same company that sells the
after market ones. There is even a terminal that will
send power to the horn or flashers if the switch
trips.

Look in the trunk of any Escort, Tempo, Taurus or
T-bird. '84 to '91 and grab the connector and part of
the wiring harness too. New at the dealer the switch
is about $15. After '91 they used a different switch
that costs something like $80 at the dealer. Negotiate
accordingly.
