Oops, look again at the line ABOVE the line you quoted:
Sep 71 First 72 Model Prefix: FH/FK/FL Serial #: 25001
[Jan 72 First car in 72 Prefix: FH/FK/FL Serial #: 30978....]
Yours might have been the 71st Spitfire MkIV down the line in calendar
year 1972, but it's about 6049 in the 1972 model year series!
