What gear were you in to get 4000RPM@55? Sounds like it might be about right
for 3rd gear, but certainly not for 4th. How loud is the engine at this speed?
I find the engine gets too noisy if I keep it above 3000RPM for long - if you
can stand this speed for more than a few minutes, then I'd guess that it's your
tach which is out.
But who cares, just go and drive that baby!
