Muriatic acid is what is put into swimming pools along with Chlorine (or
other suitable Halogen). It was also used to clean the patio surfaces
around the pool (also cleaned your feet it you did it bare-footed!). Any
acid (or base) can be dangerous in a high enough concentration.

I would be hesitant to experiment on my '79 Spitfire radiator with any "home
remedy" for cleaning it. Instead I flush often, and flush with water. The
inside of my radiator looks like it did the day it was born. I have also
found that going high on the antifreeze concentration and using
de-mineralized water will also keep the inside of the radiator looking like
new.

Remember we drink Coke-Cola, but it will eat a nail up over night, and no I
will
not walk in a Muriatic Acid.
