I use Fram PH8A (large can) filters using the oil filter adaptor from the
early MkI 1147 engines (threads into the block with filter sized thread
sticking out for the filter). Used to use PER-1 Purolators 20 years ago.
This is on a no-smog pump engine so no clearance problems. Also have an oil
cooler adaptor under the filter.

I understand that Mobil 1 filters may now be the top rated filter for various
reasons... $10 each at K-Mart.
