My experience in replacing two exhaust systems (mine and my son's
Spitfire) this past year has convinced me that there is no easy method
to get at those nuts on the interior of the manifolds. I've had to
exercise real patience and use a combination wrench and a socket
extention. I put the open end of the combination wrench through the
narrow opening, fit the tips of the wrench to the nut, insert the
extention through the box end of the wrench to use as a "T" handle and
then work the nut 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time. Patience is the virtue
that is tested, not mechanical ability. Good luck!
