Arrrgghhh!

I stopped by the regular service station this morning (250 yards from home)
and the really helpful overzealous pump jockey (trying to squeeze that last
few cents of gas into the tank) blew a half a litre of premium over the
seats, carpet, trunk, briefcase, notebook, me.

How do I get rid of the gas smell ? or will it evaporate over time ? Will
the gas cause any damage to the upholstery ? (purchased from VB last winter)
