Yes, AFAIK. And I've always wondered if that was why the Mk.IV Spitfires
('71 and '72 in the U.S., before one of our UK listers jumps in to correct
me :-) ) don't seem to suffer as much from fatigued rear springs as do the
later cars with the longer axles. Of course, later U.S. Spitfires also
suffer from increased weight of rear frame extensions and heavier bumpers
and bumper brackets, so that could also be a contributing factor?
