Overall cost depends on how much you drive. .20 per gallon is only $2.60 on
a 13 gallon fill, but I usually have to fill up at least twicw a week,
sometimes 3 times. That adds up real quick and the average mpg drops about
3-4 every time I tried the higher octane, so when you figure in the
increased consumption on top of expense.........
25,000 miles (which is less than I usually average/yr) at 20 mpg is 1250
gallons @ .20 = $250
drop the mpg to 16 and you get 1562.5 gallons @ .20 = $312.50........
hey, my fuel savings this year alone paid for my registration, track fees,
banquet dinner, and part of the 87 octane fuel to get me Memphis.
I think that is much better than putting it in the pockets of an executive
at Exxon, Mapco, Shell, etc...
