A warning that costs no cash? Wow! Last 'written warning' I got was from the
Town of Bloomfield in SE WI. I had a choice. A 'written warning' for which I
pay $75 to the town of Bloomfield or a real ticket where the minimum is $150
and I get points. Guess which one I picked? With the warning, the town keeps
the whole thing. With a real ticket, they only get 10% or so.

Well, I think that the cops in Wisconsin finally getting to know
that a lot of stiff tickets hurt the tourist trade.

Blasting through Northern Wisconsin Monday night I got zapped buy
a local Osseo, Wisconsin cop on I-94.

Detector lights up, I mash the brakes, but his red/blue lights still
go on. I pull over to a very safe spot on the off ramp to Osseo.
It takes a full 4 minutes to run my plate and then he approaches
my SHO on the right side. He says let me have your lisense, to which
I reply "yes sir" and hand himn the lisense. He introduces himself
and says that he clocked me at 81 MPH in a 65 zone. I replied "sir,
I do not believe that your device is correct, because I was not
going that fast."

He says, "I will give you a warning this time, but make sure that
you are going a whole lot slower the next time you come through this
town."

Of course he takes a full 15 minutes to write this warning, but at
least I didn't have to hire a lawyer to fight it. And best yet it
didn't cost me any cash, only time.
