definitely insulate the trailer, or buy one that is. makes a big comfort
difference in my experience. I'd also get the a/c/heat. it's like when you
first bought an air compressor--you wonder why you waited so long and how you
ever lived without it.

either the honda or the new yamahas are quiet, and the built-in ones can be
pretty quiet as well. the thing about generators is that they can never be too
big (get the 6500 if you're going portable) or too quiet. you'll appreciate
the quiet, but you'll also appreciate your pit neighbors not making attempts on
your life after a night of your generator screaming next to them. if you get
the portable, build a cheap ply enclosure for it--that'll quiet it even
further. the goal is 30kw and total silence. anything to get closer to that...

if your trailer isn't white, paint it, or get a white one. lean against a
black trailer at barber or jennings or roebling in july to see the difference.
I've seen aluminum (I think) trailers that are shiny. I'd imagine that's like
chrome--once it gets hot, it stays that way.

don't know about windows--I hear too many horror stories about theft.

as far as home use, our well pump beat down an older 5000 honda. I'd get the
biggest one I could.
