Jon,

Several have mentioned the air from your compressor. I want to address that
also but a little more in depth.

1. Do you have a regulator on your compressor? If so, do you have it cranked
   all the way open?

I finally took the regulator off my compressor, as I felt that it was too
restrictive of the air flow. If I need a regulator, I'll put on at the
tool - like my spray guns. But most of my tools want all the air volume
   and pressure they can get.

2. What size air hose are you using? Many compressors come with the 1/4"
hose. This is junk. Get some 3/8" or larger air hose.

3. How long is your hose? My compressor is in the back of my shop (22' ish
long). Then I work in my driveway quite a bit. 50' of hose just doesn't
reach where I usually need to get, so I have another 50' of hose. Problem
is that with 100' of hose, I loose almost 50% of my pressure due to line
   losses.

This summer I finally plumbed my shope with 3/4" black pipe and have air
drops at the front of my garage, and the side door (where I usually do my
sandblasting). So now I can get by with 30 to 50' of hose.

One other comment, do you have an 1/2" impact wrench? Does it seem to work
well with the same air hose? If so, it might be a bad air hammer. I was
given a DA one year for Xmas. Didn't use it as it was too cold to do any
real body work. Finally about 6 mo. later, I opened it up and it was bad
out of the box. Luckily the company it was bought from gave me a new one.

Hope this helps.

John
