Since the subject came up on the van question - Who knows why the truck and van designations for capacity were chosen? IE ford 150=1/2ton 250=3/4 and 350=1ton chevy 1500= 1/2ton 2500=3/4ton etc the newer dodges also use same as chevy but older ones were same as ford really old chevys were 3200=1/2 ton, don't know about older Fords Is there some reason for these numbers? It seems it would make more sense if they were labeled 1000, 1500, 2000 Curious Ron Schmittou |
