Hi,

Although some of the very $$$, are rated fro continuous
operation, Truman (the sandblaster people) recommends that your
compressor should have twice the CFM that you need so that the
pump will not run more than 50% of the time.  

They state "if your compressor runs more than 2/3 the time, it
will overheat and break down -- a compressor should never run
continuously." Since they do not sell compressors, this should be
a relatively unbiased recommendation.
