I looked into this stuff. It's really a cool idea. The site is

It was more expensive than some other options I've found. (it's about $4 a
square ft)
I was impressed however.

It isn't synthetic, but some friends of mine recently installed some bamboo
flooring. It might be waterproof. It looks similar to hardwood flooring,
coming in 2-3" wide strips.
No financial interest. I just know my friends are happy with it.
