Try this. Send a message to majordomo@autox.team.net, subject is irrelevant.
In the body of the message put

  get shop-talk shop-talk.archive.0101


This should return to you a pair of messages.  One will be short, saying that
your request is on the way.  The second will be a bit larger, being a text file
of all the mail succesfully sent to shop-talk during January.  Hmm, I should
probably test this to make sure it works....
