Right!  properly galvanized steel has the characteristic of "healing over"
sheared edges, scratches and holes unless attacked by some acidic corrosive
force before the "healing" takes place.  Most every metal building you've
ever seen is covered with sheets sheared top and bottom and drilled in a
thousand places but there is seldom rusting except in extreme situations
like car washes.
