Interesting mounting vertical compressors should come up now... I just
installed my DeVilbiss 60gal unit.  The manual actually said to bolt
it to the floor.  I haven't done that yet, so in the meantime it
remains bolted to the pallet it came attached to.  Doesn't dance at
all.  One interesting note is that they require you use their washers
(supplied with the compressor) which are slightly dish-shaped with
rubber on the inside.  That goes against the feet, with 3/8" lag bolt
passing through.
