I also have used the water based epoxy paint from Home Depot on my garage
floor. I followed the instructions to the letter - do not etch and applied two
coats. After applying I did not 'drive' on it for 2 months as I was still
working on my TR-6 project. It has been down now for 2 1/2 years with NO
problems. Driven/parked on every day. I was a bit skeptical at first about
the water-based part....but I am very satisfied.
My brother-in-law went with the 'normal' expoy based paint for garages -
including the acid etch. It did not last a year before it started peeling. It
might have something to do with parking JAG's on it though!
The stuff from Home base was also a bargain - around $25/gallon compared to
$75/gallon for the other.
