Hello List!!
Let me begin by saying I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas, and a great
New Year!! Also thanks for all your help on my projects over the years! With
the holidays approaching, and a few days off work I am planning to upgrade my
tired TH350 with a 700r4. the tranny is almost ready to be installed, but I
am trying to understand how to wire it up so I have a 4th gear lockup and
release when I decelerate or hit the brakes. I have read a number of posts on
the subject, but most involve later model trucks. There is a 4 wire plug on
the driver side of the tranny that has three wires coming from it. I was told
to wire the "A" position on the plug to the a keyed hot wire, and to wire the
other two together. I am confused how to wire the hot wire to my brake switch
and still have it hot until I hit the brakes (to release the lockup). It was
also suggested that I include some sort of solenoid in he circuit to delay the
lock/unlock to make for smoother operation. Could really use some help in
sorting this out. Pictures would be great, or just a description of how it is
wired up.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Mike
