hey guys-bout of insommnia.... was up late watching public access TV and there
was a professor who is a rodent guy. (cuaght it in teh middle...)
anyway.. he was talking about rodent control and the topic of hanta came up.
its in every state. including your state. yep.
35 deaths in CA in teh last year....
its an airborne disease. he said like if you have a cabin and come in for the
summer and there mice... everywhere... do NOT sweep or vaccum it up. the virus
is dust-borne. 5% bleach mixed with water. spray it to wet on all affected
areas then mop up. respirators will not protect you much but wear anyway! =)
all that said-i know when you get that pile of ... falling on your head from
the headliner-dont breathe, go take a shower and then come back with the spray
hose. disconnect battery and liberally spray your truck down. yep... i know.
rust and so forth... but this hanta-60% mortality.
so be safe and smart and do not touch any rodents with bare hands. he said
double bag over hand then grab rodent, flip bags inside out, double knot and
throw in garbage away from dogs/pets.. etc..
