sway bar is great-very nessecary in my mind.
i got a stock 52 gmc with 6 and 4spd. no sway bar-was not as fun to
drive.
got a stock factory 3/4? sway bar(dont know size-maybe 5/8? ) added a
bunch of stability and 'safe feeling'
my reccomend-panel trucks use a 1.25 bar in front with rubber bushings
and a 1.0 bar in back.
pickups can use a 1-1.25 bar with a .75 bar in back. rule of thumb is
rear bar must be 25% smaller than front bar-keeps your back end from
swapping ends! =)

sway bars are very good. take a look under any new car-front or
rear-you will see them now when it was only an option a few years
ago...
