As an owner of 27 vehicles ( about 23 of which I owned before I got married
in 2002 ), I can honestly say that the best thing to do is....marry someone who
already knows you're addicted and can put up with it! My wife KNEW I was like
this, and that I wasn't gonna change. She accepted my "old vehicle" hobby as
normal, even if owning 27 isn't exactly "normal" by most standards. FYI,
there was a BIG show in Kenosha , Wisconisin in 2001, for American Motors cars,
and approx. 120 of us online people got together in a restaurrant , and for
grins we passed a sheet of paper around, listing each person's name and how
many
cars were owned by each , the criteria being how many "whole and complete" cars
we owned, not parts cars....heh heh! The AVERAGE number was SIX ! And that
wasn't even COUNTING the partial parts cars. As AMC cars are hard to find, and
junkyards won't keep them long , we poor AMC collectors have to acquire and
store our own parts cars, and "projects". Of my 18 AMCs, only half, or less ,
are
repairable for the road, the rest are strictlly parts cars. I have 3 '57
chevy cars, and only 1 '55 TF Suburban, all of which are restoreable.
The only difference since I've been married is the wife said I can't
bring anymore home til some of the parts cars at the house disappear ( I did
get
rid of two 2 years ago, need to strip and junk 2 more ). So now I have to move
towards quality, not quantity. LOL. As long as you keep your place "neat", and
take care of your wife, you'll both be happy! If you got stuck with an
unhappy/non-understanding model of wife, unfortunately they're hard to trade in
and
get any for them, and REAL expensive to "junk"...'fraid you'll just have to
live with it, or get her her own "old truck". LOL. I got my wife a Gremlin
after
we were married...that's how we met online, in a car chat room talking about
my Gremlins and her former one.
   Anyway good luck!
