My grandfather always said you need fuel mixture, spark, compression and
timing.

If you know you have spark and fuel verify the compression and both the
valve and ignition timing....

Subject: [oletrucks] Electrical Question

On my 54 3600 truck that is all original, it was running good but hesitated
under load. Well I sold the truck to a friend of mine and he started
replacing the ignition system. New coil, points, cap, rotor, and voltage
regulatory. New 8 volt battery. The truck was then running so good I was
sad I sold it.

Now for the question. Now it won't start at all. He thought maybe he fried
the voltage regulator with the 8 volt battery so he bought a new one and
also a new 6 volt battery. Still wouldn't start. Then he bought new points
and coil. Still no start. He is a mechanic by trade and we tested
everything we could think of and still no start. It has a spark, getting
fuel, and air.

Anyone have any idea what might be the problem. This guy is so fustrated
now he pushed the truck behind his garage and covered it so he doesn't have
to see it. I feel bad that I sold him something that now doesn't work and
it was working so well.

Thanks in ADvance.
