I recently scraped out a 49 1/2 Ton and have sold most of the parts, with
the exception of the Heater. The main reason I took the truck was to
retrieve the open 3.90 Rear axle and the transmission. The Tranny had a
rigged up shifter on it but it worked, it is mounted on the side so it is
most likly a automatic with the shifter off center through the floorboard.
I wanted to Identify the tranny to passably get Gear Ratios 1st 2nd 3rd
and a differant shifter (centered).
The #s on it are E 1955 GM 1 3845122.
It comes up as a 67 Mckinnon Powerglide on American Classics
website, but it dose not have a built on bell houseing. it shifts in a H
patern, 3 & reverse. It was bolted to a 55 + - 235.
Any help idenifying or confurming info would realy help in knowing
weather or not it is a good mate to the rear axle (3:90).
