When I was getting a replacement rear yoke for the u-joint on my 54
pickup, the guys at Mile High Classic told me that I don't need to
reinstall the crossmember that I removed to get at the u-joint. Is this
really not necessary? I know these frames were over-engineered, but I'm
hesitant to leave out an important structural member.
