You can get a new clutch for your 1954 Chevy 1/2 ton at any good parts
dealer. (FLAPS)

Hello all,
I am in need of a new clutch (I think) for my 1954 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup.
Where might I find a replacement stock clutch?

The story, for those who are interested:
I was on my way to meet my girlfriend for dinner. I stopped at a stop
light, and when the light turned green, I stepped on the gas, and a kind
of sickening gears-not-engaging sound emanated from under the firewall.
The truck failed to move. So I sat there for a short while, trying
different gears (even the granny gear) without success, and generally
blocking traffic. After I figured out that it wouldn't move, I got out of
the truck and asked some homeless folks sitting on the corner if they'd
help me move my truck. They pushed the ole girl into an alley, and I gave
them $20 for their help. I had the truck towed to my house, where it's
awaiting my roommate's return so he can move his Lotus out of the garage
and we can push the truck into the garage for inspection of the clutch.

This would be a great opportunity for replacing the transmission entirely,
but unfortunately, I have neither the time nor (most importantly) the
money. Such is the life of a graduate student.
