 Lon,

I had the same problem with my '50 and spent way too many hours on it.  My dad 
solved it when he helped me readjust the brake pads.  I had them in too far so 
the pedal went to the floor before the pads hit the drums!  After 2-3 pumps, 
they hit, but when I let off and pumped again after a few seconds, it went to 
the floor again.  I must have bled a gallon of brake fluid through those lines 
before my dad set me straight!  Make sure your brake pads are adjusted 
correctly (out till they catch slightly and then back in a bit).
