My '58 has a similar problem. The drivers side door will not close at all,
unless we slam it very hard. Then it doesn't seat properly. The bottom
hinge has been welded on and re-welded, and is quite a mess now. I've been
trying to find a replacement door, but no luck yet. Can I weld a new hinge
on the old door, and solve the problem?
