[oletrucks] oil pan screen?

Hi all,

I have a '51 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup with a 216 engine.  I am in the process of
putting new gaskets on the engine.  When I dropped the pan, aside from the
usual muck and sludge that I had to clean out, the wire mesh "filter" that
goes in the pan has a big hole in the middle of it.  I have looked in some
of the parts catalogs and called a couple of places but I cannot find a
replacement.

In a pinch I think the mesh filter I have could somehow be repaired but I'd
like to find a good new or used unit.  Any leads?
