Scott-

After being parked for 9 years, the ground connection to the frame may be a
little corroded.  Might be worth looking into.  Also the connection from the
battery to the starter may need to be cleaned.  I use medium sandpaper to
assure a good contact from metal to metal.  But on the bright side, if you
can jump start it, and it purrs like a kitten, you're way ahead in the game
already!

I'm sure you will get lots of good advice from others who know a lot more
about the electrical system than I do.  Good luck!
