Our casting numbers list (www.inliners.org)is a good reference but there was
never intent to include babbit motors. I've found a couple of others that have
additional information.

The list at http://www.inliners.org/becks/BCN2.html contains ID info for 216
babbit motors thru 261's and also denotes whether the engine was originally
from a car or truck. By the way, Beck's specializes in converting 216's to full
pressure engines and can also convert a 235 to modern remote spin-on oil
filtration. Watch for a how-to on this conversion either on Beck's tech page
(be patient, they are just getting this site up) or on the Inliners site.

The second casting numbers list is vast and includes a ton of additional
reference material such as whether the motor is integral head or not. It
doesn't have any pre-235 listings but has a huge amount of information on the
later GM inlines like the 230, 250 and 292. It can be found at
www.butlers-a1.com.
