Hi Mark, looking at current probes? The clamp on type Tektronix Model A622 is a very nice probe. It has a DC rating as well as a high bandwidth. Most probes will not cover both DC and AC. Current sensing coils have been around for a long time! Most electricians have AC type current sensing probes built into their meters so they do not have to disconnect the wires to measure current.
