I may not be one of the "old-timers" of the group but I have been with it
since it was substantially smaller than it is now. Many of you on here
know that I have a TF truck and you also know that I have a serious
interest in AD trucks as well. I make no secret of the fact that I would
love to have one of each but don't have the space or time to donate to both.
That being said I am disappointed to see the group starting to subdivide
into other groups. My feeling is, to borrow the words of Mr. Lincoln, "A
house divided cannot stand". My truck would fall somewhere between rod and
heavily modified I guess. Nevertheless I frequently read posts dedicated to
bone stock AD trucks. You see, I admit that I have a ton to learn on the
subject of old trucks..and as such I will take the opportunity to read
anything and everything that might further my knowledge of them whether it
relates specifically to my model year or not. I appreciate Rob having
started this list, you have helped me more than you could ever know, but I
have to disagree with your decision to start a competing list..and that is
what it will become. This is America though and as such you have the right
to do whatever you wish. If you are truly that frustrated with this group
then perhaps you feel you have no other choice. As for Miq, you have done
a great job with this group, especially at keeping the spam out of my
mailbox. In addition you allow things to flow pretty much as they want
until it gets entirely out of hand then you step in and guide it back in
line. I think your ideas may help those of us who feel overwhelmed with
the amount of mail in the box as well as keep happy those of us, such as
myself, that want to get it all.
For the record, I have no use for ebay posts myself but I handled quite
easily on my end by simply making a filter in my email program, Eudora,
which if the subject contains the word "ebay" it goes straight to the trash
folder. That way those that like it can get it and I don't have to worry
with it. It's quite simple to do in Eudora..if anyone would like help with
it..ping me off list and I will help you get it set up. I'm sure other
programs do the same thing if you take time to figure it out.
Ok..my 2 cents turned into a buck fifty. I'll go back to my cage now. :)
