Back in June I had the great honor to meet Bob Adler for the first time at
the Hildene car show in Manchester, VT. I talked to him about my clutch
chatter problem and he gave me a few ideas, one of them were possible bad
motor mounts. Well, I got busy with my job and household problems (basically,
I had to put the house back together because I ignored problems while I
restored the truck...imagine that). In August at the Northeast Chevy-GMC
Truck Meet in Wendell Mass, once again I met Bob Adler. He inspected my truck
and suggested motor mounts. This past weekend I finally had some free time to
get under the truck and look into the problem. I found all of the motor mount
bolts loose (original 216 engine). I tighten them up and you guessed it, the
clutch chatter is gone. Thanks Bob for the great advise! Sometimes it is
easy to overlook the obvious of problems. I'm sure glad I didn't have to
ripe the clutch apart.
Thanks again Bob!
